Essential upgrades to the online catalogue

The university's online library catalogues will be off-line for an estimated two hours from 15:00 on Sunday, January 15th as some essential upgrades to the system are made. 

As our catalogue is hosted by the university, while this upgrade is taking place you will be unable to search the catalogue or access e-resources.

New acting director for the Institute of Classical Studies



Professor Mike Edwards has now taken up the Chair of Classics at Trinity St David’s, University of Wales, and has therefore given up the post of Director of the Institute of Classical Studies in London, after more than five years of distinguished service.  Professor John North has agreed to take on the post of Acting Director for the calendar year 2012.  For more details about him and the appointment, follow this link: http://www.sas.ac.uk/about-us/news/press-releases  We anticipate that a long-term appointment will be made early in 2013. 

Essential maintenance on Saturday, January 7th



On Saturday, January 7th, heating engineers will be coming to do some work in the archaeology room of the library. This will necessitate the removal of all of the desks in this room, and may lead to some disruption. The desks will be replaced on Monday morning.
