Scanning Available
While we continue our quest for a new photocopier/scanner we
are offering a modest scanning service in the library for readers. High
definition colour scans are now available at a cost of 50 pence per page either
to be sent via email or transferred onto a portable storage device. This
service is not being offered as an alternative to photocopying but rather for
readers who need colour images for essays, presentations etc. Please ask at the
desk for further details.

More Discoveries at Antikythera
Recent discoveries suggest that the wreck at Antikythera,
where the mysterious Antikythera mechanism (above) was discovered, is much larger
than previously thought- perhaps even being home to two ancient vessels. Read
about the original discoveries in the recent exhibition catalogue: ‘The Antikythera shipwrec : the ship, the
treasures, the mechanism; [exhibition] National Archaeological Museum, April
2012-April 2013’ [Eds. Kaltsas, N et al] located at X112D ANT in the library
